This is an online exhibition  for the

Advanced Photo Workshop,

Spring 2020 class at the

Tyler School of Art, Temple University

In a normal semester, the Advanced Workshop Class is an opportunity for students to advance their darkroom skills, as well as develop a larger personally driven project, the class culminates in a public exhibition where the students get to display their work.

Unfortunately, this was not a normal semester.

In the midst of this pandemic the students were sent out of the school, unable to access the darkroom, and found themselves quarantined in their homes. Thus, students' methods of making had to adapt, and so too has the exhibition. As a public exhibition was no longer possible in the same way, students were challenged with changing their final projects into virtual books, focusing on the power of narrative, sequencing, and presentation.

I am incredibly proud of the work these students achieved. Their motivation, creativity, and resilience in the face of the difficulties and disruptions created by this crisis is a reminder of how the artistic spirit rises to meet any challenge.

Please enjoy.
